A number of US Army WWII service insignia, including army tags were stolen during the burglary.

Police are on the hunt for thieves who stole WWII service insignia from a Canning Vale home earlier this month.

About 3pm on January 13 a 56-year-old woman returned to her Brennan Avenue home to find it had been broken into.

She disturbed the people inside who fled from the property.

Several valuable items were stolen including US Army WWII service insignia from the victims’ late mother and father.

Jewellery and electrical goods were also stolen.

The investigation is still ongoing and police are seeking the public’s assistance to find the insignia, which are of significant sentimental value to the victim.
