Man killed in Gosnells crash
A 39-year-old man has died after a crash in Gosnells.
About 10:35am on Monday, a Holden Commodore utility and a Toyota Landcruiser tray-top collided at the intersection of Albany and Tonkin Highways in Gosnells.
The 39-year-old male driver of the Commodore sustained critical injuries and died at the scene.
The 68-year-old male driver of the Landcruiser received minor injuries and was taken to Armadale Hospital for medical treatment.
A few minutes prior to the crash, Police Airwing observed the Holden Commodore travelling on Albany Highway.
Police continue to investigate the incident.
Woman arrested for scrub fires
Strike Force Vulcan officers have charged a 30-year-old woman as a result of their investigation into three scrub fires that occurred on Tuesday, 4 February 2025.
It is alleged about 3:10pm, the woman lit a fire in vegetation on Carden Drive near Greenfield Street in Cannington, and then she lit another one on Nicholson near Fleetwood Park Road in Lynwood.
It is further alleged about 5:20pm, the woman set another fire in bushland at Hester Park on Spencer Road between the intersections of View Avenue and Ellison Drive. This fire quickly spread requiring multiple DFES units, including the firefighting helicopter, to extinguish the fire before it could spread to nearby residences.
The 30-year-old woman from Brentwood was charged with:
• Three counts of Wilfully Light or Cause to be Lit a Fire Likely to Injure or Damage.
This offence carries a maximum penalty of 20 years’ imprisonment. She appeared before the Armadale Magistrates Court on 10 February 2025 and was bailed to next appear on Monday, 10 March 2025.

Thieves pilfer off road bikes
Armadale Detectives are appealing for public assistance as they investigate the theft of multiple off-road bikes in Byford last Wednesday.
Between 3am and 7am, four off road motor bikes were stolen from a home on Plaistowe Boulevard.

Firearms stolen from local property
Mundijong Police are urging the public to be vigilant as they continue to investigate the theft of firearms and ammunition stolen from a property in Mundijong, sometime between Wednesday 5 February and Monday 10 February.
The stolen firearms include a Lithgow Arms LA102 Crossover Rifle and a Gamo G-Magnum .22 Calibre Air Rifle.

Woman struck by Tesla in Canning Vale
A 21-year-old woman was left fighting for life after being struck by a Tesla in Canning Vale.
Police said that at around 4:40pm on Wednesday, January 29, a white Tesla Model Y sedan was travelling along Ranford Road at the intersection of Campbell Street in Canning Vale when it struck a female pedestrian.
The 21-year-old was immediately rushed to Fiona Stanley Hospital with critical injuries before being transferred to Royal Perth Hospital.
The 51-year-old driver of the vehicle was uninjured.
