An elderly woman is in hospital after a man entered her Armadale house and attacked her before stealing her handbag and car yesterday.
At about 5.10pm on September 6 a man entered the Sixth Road property through the front door and demanded the 65-year-old woman’s car keys.
When the woman refused the man punched her to the ground and repeatedly kicked her.
He then stole the woman’s handbag, car keys and car.
The stolen car was then involved in a number of reckless driving incidents which damaged several vehicles on Albany Highway near Kelvin Road.
The car was eventually abandoned, damaged, on Albany Highway near Brookton Highway where the male fled on foot.
Emergency services attended the Sixth Road house where the woman had been beaten and she was taken to Armadale Hospital where she was treated for a serious laceration to her head and extensive bruising.
Police currently have the car for forensic testing.
