Good Shepherd Catholic Parish were runners up at the soccer tournament held at Thornlie.

The youth group at Scared Heart Parish in Thornlie hosted a soccer tournament earlier this month, which saw hundreds of residents and visitors, descended upon the southeast metro region for the games.

There were more than five teams, all playing twenty-minute halves.

The whole idea of the tournament was for people to engage with the community and enjoy an afternoon of sports while getting to know one another.

Good Shepherd Catholic Parish Kelmscott entered two teams in the competition, both captained by priests Crispin Witika and Pavol Herda.

Although both teams made it to the finals, they were unable to secure the winning points and had to be content with being the runners up.

Good Shepherd released a statement in their news bulletin about the success of the tournament.

The church thanked all the supporters who took the effort to attend the games and cheer on the team.
