Chris Hemsworth is back as Thor in the latest Marvel movie.

The latest Marvel movie, Thor: Ragnarok spectacularly stands out from the others for its fresh new approach to the comic book genre.

Taika Waititi’s movie is filled with humour, the likes which haven’t been seen before in the Marvel-verse, but at the same time it is action packed and thrilling which audiences have come to love and expect from the high budget blockbusters.

In the third stand alone Thor movie, Chris Hemsworth’s back in the lead role as the God of Thunder but this time around he doesn’t have his trusty hammer and neither does he sport his trademark long blonde hair.

Instead, his home Asgard is under threat by the Goddess of Death Hela (Cate Blanchett) but he finds himself lost on a distant planet fighting in a gladiator ring against his friend the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo).

Desperate to get home and rescue his people from Hela’s wrath, Thor must fight the bedazzled slipper wearing Grand Master (Jeff Goldblum) and convince a washed up Valkyrie warrior (Tessa Thompson) to help him escape.

Meanwhile, he must also contend with the God of Mischief and brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston) who perfectly captures a tormented soul trying to do the right thing but also can’t seem to abandon his ‘bad guy,’ traits.

Thor: Ragnarok was absolutely brilliant although some fans will no doubt be left disappointed by the absence of Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), the movie was the perfect mix of action, comedy and a heart warming story about the bond between brother’s and the true meaning of home.

In the words of Odin (Anthony Hopkins) home is not a place but a feeling.

Also starring Karl Urban, Idris Elba, and a cameo by Matt Damon, which you will not want to miss.
