There will be something for everyone at this year’s Serpentine Jarrahdale Lions Country Fair with rides, stalls, agriculture displays and Western Australia’s biggest wood chop event guaranteed to wow all.
Serpentine Jarrahdale Lions Club secretary Richard Lane said there had been an annual axemen’s competition at Jarrahdale Oval since 1977.
“The tradition is maintained this year together with the Serpentine Jarrahdale Lions Country Fair providing an opportunity to see first class axemen displaying their skills and a fair with over 80 stalls, rides for children, licensed bar and musical entertainment providing something for everyone,” he said.
“The log chop competition organised by the Jarrahdale and Central Districts Axemen’s Association will include both national and international axemen and has been financially sponsored through the Serpentine Jarrahdale Shire, Alcoa, Bendigo Bank, MZI, Second Chance Funding and Lotterywest.”
This year parking restrictions will apply on Nettleton and Millars roads near the event area.
The RV camping area will be used as an alternative parking space and a free bus service will run to and from the oval.
The free fair will be held from 10am to 4pm on September 30 at Millars Road in Jarrahdale.
