The Willetton toy library was encouraging residents to come and try the toys in the lead up to the end of the year.

The library had been operating since the 1980s and has gone from strength to strength but president Melissa Soh said they were always looking for new members.

“At the moment we have about close to 50 members, we usually run on that number throughout the whole year but we always have space for new members,” she said.

Ms Soh said toy libraries provided a great service for families who didn’t want to spend hundreds on toys.

“The biggest benefit is for parents to save money instead of always buying new toys,” she said.

“Children get bored with the same toys so at least with a toy library they can change toys every two weeks and keep them occupied.

The toy library was open Wednesdays and Fridays from 9.30am to 10.30am. Visit www.willettontoylibrary.org.au.
