Pine bark mulch will replace existing rubber soft fall matting at a local park due to consistent vandalism.
Verdant Reserve, which is surrounded by Verdant Crescent and Cilantro Parkway in Seville Grove, is a hot spot for vandals with damage to the playground and rubbish dumped within the parklands being a constant issue.
City of Armadale acting chief executive Paul Sanders said the city was aware of the vandalism, however they did not have any record of any outstanding illegal dumping or graffiti incidents at the park at this time.
“Verdant Reserve is maintained in line with the city’s maintenance program,” he said.
“The city regularly mows and conducts playground audits, with the Reserve being mowed every three weeks and playground audits conducted monthly.”
Mr Sanders said the matting would soon be replaced with pine bark mulch, which is used at many other parks throughout the city.
