The sun was shining and plenty of excitement was had as puffs of coloured dust were thrown around during Jarrahdale Primary’s colour explosion fundraiser.

Held on the school oval on November 9 the colour explosion was a high-energy, fun-filled afternoon for all involved.

Principal Julie Denholm said the inaugural colour explosion was a natural progression from the school’s previously held walkathon.

“It was a great way to fundraise and celebrate the beginning of summer with colour, exercise and a fun shared experience,” she said.

The event had raised more than $2500 with some online donations still to be processed.

Mrs Denholm said the money raised would go towards revamping the school’s front entrance as well as redesigning the kindergarten and pre-primary outdoor areas.

“The school’s front entrance will be redesigned to create a welcoming and inviting entrance incorporating a rock wall, bench seating and a fresh produce stand,” she said.

“The pathways would also be widened to accommodate prams and bicycles.”

While the upgrades to the kindergarten and pre-primary spaces would see more usable space created for outdoor teaching, activities and exploration. Initial work has already started with retaining walls being constructed.
