Singer songwriter and guitarist Ezereve and DJ Mitchell entertained audiences at a local fair last weekend, which saw several thousand people show up in support of a school’s special celebration.
John Wollaston Anglican Community School’s fair on Saturday was held in conjunction with the school’s 30-year anniversary celebrations.
Principal Anne Ford said the old-school bi-annual fair had plenty on offer for all young and old.
“The pet show, petting zoo, inflatable slides, silent auction, food and entertainment stalls were a massive hit with families and visitors alike,” she said.
“Some of the most popular stalls were the Mother’s Day stall, which sold out of flowers and gifts while the face painting had queues of children waiting patiently for the artistry of Sharon Leitch.”
Ms Ford said the fair provided the community with an opportunity to enter the school grounds and see how the school had developed over the past 30 years.
“School archivist Carol Lander curated a large display of photographs tracing the history of the school, which attracted a large crowd to the upper primary building,” she said.
“It was great to see students past and present devouring the exhibition to find photos of themselves and reminiscing about the good old days.”
