You don’t need a green thumb to join the fun at this year’s springfest at the City of Gosnells’ Southern River community garden this month.
The annual event was a celebration of gardening and home grown produce and would include plant and cake stalls, a sausage sizzle, bush tucker tastings, face paintings and children’s activities.
Musicians from the neighbouring Southern River college would entertain the crowd and children could explore the garden with a scavenger hunt.
College students would also be offering free pH soil tests. Springfest would be held on October 25 from 10.30am to 12.30pm at the community garden behind Southern River College in Anaconda Drive, Gosnells.
The community garden has been a partnership project between the City of Gosnells, Southern River college and the community but the city would hand over management of the space to the garden’s volunteer committee at springfest.
A short handover ceremony would be held at 11.30am. Call 9397 3123.
