Youngsters from the Armadale Police Rangers unit channelled their crafty sides to make cuddly warm blankets for those in need this winter.
Unit leader Ben Boekholt said the group got together on Wednesday nights to make about 25 blankets and soft toys for children who were living rough on the streets within the City of Armadale.
“We have been doing this for the last five years because there is a need in Armadale for this,” he said.
“We have been giving blankets to Hope in Armadale for the last five years and we wanted to change organisations this year.”
Mr Boekholt handed over the donations last week to not-for-profit organisation Street Chaplains which rolled out its Armadale stream of services late last year.
Street Chaplains is made up of a number of volunteers who have come together from many different churches to provide crisis pastoral care to anyone in need.
The organisation offers services in Perth and Northbridge, Fremantle, Joondalup, Rockingham and Mandurah and in the regional cities of Albany, Bunbury, Busselton and Kununurra.
