A long-term Camillo resident feels several areas within his suburb are consistently forgotten except for when the rates bills hit the letterboxes.
Joe Trenka said he has lost count of how many times he and his wife have called the City of Armadale over the past 10 years to ask for the lawns to be maintained at Troon Park.
During the summer months he said the gardens are dead as there was no reticulation and in winter you often need to wear gumboots to meander through the long grass.
“This is the worst I have seen it for a long time,” he said. “Kids can’t run around in that grass, it would be in excess of 300mm in some places.
“Minnawarra Park is all nice and sweet isn’t it? We are out of the way here and forgotten.”
City of Armadale chief executive Cliff Frewing said scheduled maintenance of Troon Park occurred on an eight-weekly cycle with reactive maintenance carried out if necessary on an as needs basis in between times.
“The city has received one query over the last week regarding the park requesting that the grass be mowed,” he said.
“The mowing is scheduled to be carried out this week weather permitting.”
Mr Frewing also confirmed the play equipment at Troon Park is programmed to be renewed as part of the city’s planned works for the 2021-22 financial year.
