He touches on real life Hollywood events from the 1960s, mixing fictional characters throughout the film and linking aspects of the Charles Manson’s crimes and Roman Polanski’s murdered wife Sharon Tate (Margot Robbie).
The film is primarily set over a period of three days that showcases the life of washed up and fictional actor Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio), a TV star, along with his stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt).
DiCaprio’s implacable performance on screen shows a man going through an emotional break- down and realisation that his career is coming to an end if he doesn’t manage to transition from his old show ‘Bounty Law’ to the big Hollywood screens as a movie star.
Pitt acting cool was possibly one of the most pleasurable parts as he delivers one of the most awaited moments.
Even though many people will expect as much of a defined story line, Tarantino uses his expertise to mess with people’s minds by leaving the audience wondering with a ‘Once upon a time’ and ‘The End’ type of story finale.
