A unique museum will throw open its doors next month for an open day that the whole family is sure to enjoy.
Hugh Manning Tractor Museum in Serpentine first opened in September 1993 featuring many of the late Hugh Manning’s prized agricultural tractors and machinery.
Since then the collection has continued to grow and members of the public are encouraged to head along to the open day next month to see some of the rare machines in action.
Vice president Dan Huston said the open day is a great opportunity for the community to appreciate our agricultural past and see some of the equipment running that they likely never otherwise see in action.
“There will be a large stationary engine there that pumped water to the Serpentine River in the 1920s as well as plenty of vintage engines and tractors from 1925 to 1955,” he said.
The open day will also feature a swap meet in conjunction with the Byford Classic Car Club, which will include old collectables, car parts, tools and machinery.
The event will take place at the museum on Wellard Street in Serpentine from 10am to 1pm on November 10.
