Despite shop fronts across the state closing in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic it will be business as usual for Armadale’s much-loved animal shelter.
Armadale’s Community Animal Rescue Group has vowed to stay open and continue providing care for its animals until directed to do otherwise.
The group is run entirely by community volunteers and financially supported by the Armadale Community Animal Rescue Group Op Shop.
Unfortunately it’s been a particularly slow year for the group as far as adoptions are concerned.
With 30 cats and kittens still in its care Armadale Community Animal Rescue Group manager Sara Hewer said it was important to continue with operations and urged those looking to adopt to do so for the right reasons.
“We will be carrying on as usual – the animals will still be receiving the care and attention they are used to,” she said.
“For these animals, life goes on.
“We’re their life and they’re not aware of what is going on at the moment.
“We still have 30 beautiful cats and kittens that need adopting but we want people to do that for the right reasons.”
