Member for Burt Matt Keogh, member for Southern River Terry Healy and community members talked about their concerns through a virtual office video conference.

Local members of parliament decided to hold a virtual office video conference for concerned community members.

In light of the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, local member for Burt Matt Keogh and member for Southern River Terry Healy kicked off an initiative to help locals during the health crisis.

Member for Thornlie Chris Tallentire also participated, and within the next few weeks, other members of parliament will join, whilst members of the public across different electorates are encouraged to have their say.

Mr Keogh said these online meetings would be a great opportunity for concerned locals.

“Just because we can’t catch up in person at the moment, doesn’t mean we can’t speak face to face, he said.

“These virtual mobile offices are a great opportunity for our communities to get in touch with any concerns they may have – whether they be COVID-19 related or otherwise.

“The ability to hold virtual mobile offices will hopefully make getting in touch a bit easier, often we are restricted to office or cafe hours to meet with people, through going online we can engage out of hours from anywhere and everywhere.”

Mr Healy confirmed many people have been turning to them for help now more than ever.

“We plan to hold these virtual office videos regularly so that people continue to feel supported through this difficult situation,” he said.
