The much-anticipated Log Chop and SJ Lions Country Fair took place over the weekend on Sunday, October 3.

Originally the Jarrahdale Log Chop began in the early 1970s and was an axeman competition, and was supplemented by stalls and entertainment.

The Serpentine Jarrahdale Lions Club took over the running of the stalls, which is referred to now as the SJ Lions Country Fair.

A huge number of people turned up to the event on Sunday, and enjoyed more than 70 stalls.

The day saw amusement rides and entertainment, alongside the stalls and the axeman competition creating a fun and free family event.

Voluntary groups also attend the fair with stalls, to show their services and increase social interaction within the community. Photographs – Richard Polden.
