Armadale’s fifth grade have had a comfortable win against Riverton Rostrata after posting 264 last week. Ainsley Noronha (2-13) bowled a beautiful early spell to see Riverton slide to 4-30. Riverton fought back to be 4-81 before Alex Pass (2-19 from 13 superb overs) and Jeff Petrie (2-2) ripped through them as Riverton were dismissed for 105.
Seventh Grade
Seventh grade have fallen agonisingly short of an outright win in their clash with Phoenix. Armadale declared overnight on 4-108 in reply to Phoenix’s 29.
In the second innings Armadale started well again as Joel Elsley (2-39) bowled well at the top. James Gardner (3-19) and Kalon Fabbro (2-19) bowed beautifully in the middle as Phoenix fell to 9-86 The last pair, however, frustrated Armadale as they put on 37 in 15 overs to get up to 123 all out. This left Armadale with 45 to win outright in 6 overs. Luke Williams (23no) and Michael Lansdowne (14no) had a crack but finished on 1-38.
One Day B
One Day B have gone down against Cockburn after being sent into bat first. After two early wickets Armadale had three batsmen get out in the teens, before Muhammad Ali Arshad made a fine 48. Another flurry of wickets put Armadale on the back foot before Venkata Tadepalli made a handy 19no at the death to see Armadale up to 8-145. In Armadale fought hard with the ball but Cockburn managed to eke out the win, passing the score in the 37th over to finish at 4-146. Yadwinder Singh was the pick of the bowlers with 1-22 from his 8 overs.
One Day C
One Day C took on Kelmscott and looked good batting first at 1-52 thanks to Sujit Pankajakshan (31). Three quick wickets saw Armadale fall to 4-60 before Sinju Karim (44 off 35 balls, including 3 sixes) fought back.
Unfortunately, the innings fell away as Armadale were dismissed for 135.
In reply, two early wickets gave Armadale hope but Kelmscott fought back to be cruising at 2-94. A great spell by Sujit Pankajakshan (3-31) brought Armadale roaring back at 6-106. Kelmscott finished off well however after the score was passed, to finish on 8-183.
One Day D
One Day D have had a solid win against Kenwick who won the toss and bowled. Anand Baskaran (17) and Elamparithy Athimoolam (40 off 44) got off to a great start before Murugan Narasiman (33) batted well as Armadale were cruising at 2-90.
A few quick wickets put Armadale on the back foot before John Parnabas (35no off 32 balls and Basil Paul (14no off 11) saw Armadale up to 7-185.
Kenwick started well in reply and looked good at 2-81 before Chandrasekaran Seenuvasan turned the game on its head with a magnificent spell (4-40). Kenwick again steadied to be 5-159 before Anand Baskaran (2-28 plus a run out) provided the telling spark that ensured Armadale would win as Kenwick were dismissed for 167.
One Day G
One Day G took on Cockburn who won the toss and batted. Paul Edwards (3-20) took two early wickets before Cockburn got right on top at 2-99.
Steve Nichols then bowled a sensational spell (3-17) to turn the game, before Peter Smith (2-12) chipped in as Cockburn finished on 8-137.
In reply, Armadale stuttered early to be 3-41 before Paul Edwards (36) and Stacey Barrett (42) got right on top.
Peter Smith (22no) then finished off well as Armadale cruised to 6-163.
One Day H
One Day H have demolished Phoenix after winning the toss and batting. Todd King (26) started well before Derek Goscombe took over.
He smashed 17 fours in a magnificent innings of 118no off only 98 balls.
He was well supported by youngster Chetan Kalia (24no) as Armadale made 5-225.
In reply, Phoenix never got going and were dismissed for 69. Rob Goscombe (4-11 from 6) and Bennet Walker (3-20) were the chief destroyers.
Under 17
The under 17’s took on SJ Blues and won the toss and bowled.
It was a great decision as Rathish Karthikeyan (3-13) found the edge three times for Jayden McClure to take 3 catches, as SJ dropped to 4-16.
Ben Hunt (2-18) and Jayden McClure (2-9) then ripped through the middle order as SJ dropped to 8-84. SJ then fought back to be dismissed for 131 on the final ball of the innings.
In reply, Gursimran Singh (22 off 16) and Arman Kanyan (15) got off to a great start before Jayden McClure (32 from 30) took over as Armadale raced to 2-94 off only 13 overs.
A huge collapse however saw Armadale fall to only 103 with 2 wickets in hand. Chetan Kalia (24) and Tanuj Azad (11) batted beautifully to guide Armadale home with a match winning partnership of 38 as Armadale finished on 141.
