Communicare: Communities for Children, Hippy, SEMPSS (South East Metro Parenting Support Services) and Choose Change Program had an outstanding “Stopping Family and Domestic Violence: Play Your Part” event in Gosnells Town Square last Thursday.
The 16 days in WA event was organised by the Family Services Network and supported by Communities for Children and City of Gosnells.
It was a free community event for the 16 Days in WA campaign.
“It was a great event where we raised awareness about the crucial domestic violence services available to our community,” said Communicare administration officer Tamara Allingham.
“Many stallholders shared valuable services for families.”
Now in its seventh year, the 16 Days in WA event aims to educate, motivate, and advocate in the community to stand up against violence towards women.
“The event was filled with community spirit,” she said.
“Our sausage sizzle, cooked by the Shalom Perth Ladies Team, was a hit.
“The children had a blast with exciting activities provided by Communities for Children, and the community turnout was great.
“It was heartening to see so many coming together for a day of connection and support.
“It was great to join 10 service providers who participated and contributed to making this event a success.”
