The Kelmscott Bulldogs will officially launch their 2024 season tonight (Thursday) from their newly-refurbished clubrooms.

The John Dunn pavilion was built in January 1978 and after 55 years of good use required extensive upgrades.

But lengthy construction delays meant the Bulldogs had to forego access to their clubrooms for their 2023 season.

Tonight heralds their triumphant return to their base.

The 2024 season is already proving to be a big one for the Kelmscott club, with the rebirth of the Colts team – the first since 2017.

The Bulldogs received confirmation from the Perth Football League in February that the team’s nomination was successful after over 30 registrations were received for the 2024 season.

The club’s Rob Turner said this milestone is in large part due to the hard work of the Kelmscott Junior Football Club.

The Colts, coached by Ryan Prosser and Kristian Egan, will kick off their season against Collegians this Saturday from 10.40am at the David Cruikshank Reserve.

The Women’s team will have their home debut in the C2 division after scoring a promotion from their 2023 Premiership win. Their game against Cockburn is scheduled from 11am at John Dunn.

Meanwhile the Men’s Reserves and League teams are up against SNESA, with round 1 games from 12.45pm.
