A 22-year-old man has been charged after eight people were caught allegedly throwing rocks at cars from the overpass at Albany and Tonkin highways in Gosnells yesterday.
About 10.30pm police received reports that a group of youths were throwing large rocks from the overpass.
Two vehicles were allegedly damaged, one with significant damage to the windscreen.
Police surrounded the cow paddocks between Albany Highway and Corfield Street.
Upon officers entering the paddocks a foot chase took place and eight people were taken into custody.
A 22-year-old Wellard man was charged with criminal damage and causing an object to be directed at a conveyance.
He is due to appear in the Armadale Magistrates Court on March 22.
Inquiries are continuing.
