A Byford man was the third person charged after an horrific attack in Thornlie last weekend.

Two residents were assaulted during the home invasion thought to be a Facebook Marketplace meet-up gone wrong.

About 10:55am, police were called to the Bremer Place home after one of the residents sought help from a neighbour.

Police said a woman in her 50s and a man in his 40s had been assaulted.

A woman had attended the house, and after a short conversation at the front door, she forced her way inside armed with a bladed weapon.

The man was stabbed in the neck during the struggle and was allegedly thrown from his wheelchair.

The female resident’s arm was injured. Both were taken to hospital by St John WA.

During the incident, a man armed with what is believed to be a pick axe entered the house. A third person – a man – was also present.

On Wednesday Armadale detectives charged 33-year-old Byford man Lyle Cox with aggravated home burglary, aggravated armed robbery, unlawful wounding and assault occasioning bodily harm.

He was due to appear at the Armadale Magistrates Court today (Thursday).

Earlier, detectives had charged a 37-year-old Mount Pleasant man and a 27-year-old Huntingdale woman with the same offences.

They were both due to appear in Armadale Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
