Police issue fraud warning
Armadale police are advising local residents to be aware of the man pictured.
He is a known serial fraudster who attends homes and places where vulnerable people are, and tells them a fictitious story in order to gain compassion and requests money for fuel or to help his sick kids.
He has been active in the Kelmscott and Armadale suburbs recently.
If anyone believes that they may have been scammed by this man, or if you see him approaching people, please contact 131 444 or 1800 333 000 to report to Police.
Magistrate issues stern warning
A man caught going more than 40km over the speed limit has been fined in court.
Adriano Michele Tuccio appeared before Magistrate Brian Mahon at Armadale Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
He stood charged with reckless driving after being caught travelling 106kph in a 60-zone in Langford around lunch time on Christmas day.
It was his second reckless driving charge.
On top of that charge, he was also facing four charges of possession of meth pipes, and possession of a flick knife, from January 18. He had two previous controlled weapon charges.
Mr Tuccio pleaded guilty to all charges.
Magistrate Mahon awarded credit for his early plea and imposed fines on all counts: $1750 for speeding; $600 for drug paraphernalia possession; and $1000 for weapon possession.
He was also fined $750 for failing to give information to officers when directed.
But Magistrate Mahon left Mr Tuccio with a final warning: “If I deal with you again in regards to weapons, it won’t be fines from me,” he said.
Machete-wielding man meets his Doom
A machete-wielding man has been captured after an attempted car-jacking.
Mandurah Detectives have charged a man following an incident which occurred in Cockburn Central on Tuesday.
It will be alleged a 21-year-old man was a passenger of a rideshare vehicle around midnight when he asked the male driver to stop on Signal Terrace.
He then threatened the male driver with a machete and demanded his car keys.
When the driver refused, a brief struggle occurred in which the driver received a cut to his finger, before he managed to flee the vehicle and call police.
A short time later – following assistance from Police Air Wing and the Canine Unit – the 21-year-old was located in the stairwell of a nearby apartment block on Linkage Avenue.
A machete was located and seized at the scene.
Following inquiries, the Tapping man was charged with Aggravated Armed Robbery.
He is next due to appear in Fremantle Magistrates Court on Tuesday 23 July 2024.
Caravan stolen from home
Cannington Police are investigating the theft of a caravan from a home in Cannington on 21 April.
It is believed a white Jayco caravan, with WA registration 1TSJ979, was stolen around 6.30am from a residence on Mallard Way.
Police would like to speak to the driver of the silver four-wheel drive vehicle, who may have information that can assist with the investigation.

Bourbon bandit
At around 12.45pm on Wednesday, May 29, two men entered a liquor store on South Western Highway in Byford.
CCTV captured one man grab a 10-pack of bourbon from the cool room and approach the register.
When a staff member attended to another customer the men walked out of the store without paying.
Police have released CCTV images of a man who they believe may be able to assist with their investigation.
The man is described as: slim build, light skinned, with long dark hair. The man was wearing a black T-shirt, a black sports jacket, black track pants and black shoes.
