If you missed it the first time, Ian Simpson and Wayne Perry will be back with their sell-out John Denver with Strings show.

Following sell-out shows in Armadale and Fremantle, Perth musicians Wayne Perry and Ian Simpson return to our region, accompanied by the Classic Sounds Orchestra, to present ‘John Denver with Strings’.

As the Kelmscott Agricultural Society (KAS) gears up to celebrate its 125th show, ‘John Denver with Strings’ will be part of the Friday night entertainment, on 18 October, from 6-7:30pm.

After the KAS entertainment coordinator presented the show committee with a variety of options for the Friday night entertainment, Vice President Tim Choules led the unanimous decision with his declaration: “they were outstanding at the Armadale Arts Festival, we want John Denver’s music for this year’s show”.

It’s been a particularly special journey for the Classic Sounds Orchestra (CSO) who are thrilled to be part of the celebration of this year’s show’s ‘Heritage’ theme.

“The CSO celebrates its 18th year this year, hardly a rival to the amazing 125 years of shows for Kelmscott, but definitely a pivotal performance group that represents the success of the arts in our local region,” Musical Director Rachel John said.

And Wayne Perry is delighted to be performing alongside the CSO again.

“Playing with the CSO is a highlight of my performance career because being backed by an orchestra takes the concert experience to the next level,” he said.

Ian Simpson said he is especially thrilled to be performing for Kelmscott locals.

“So far, we have only done this show indoors. I’m keen to know what it sounds like when the outdoor crowd sings along with us, Leaving on a Jet Plane, Annie’s Song and Country Roads. Really looking forward to it,” he said.
