Cannington’s Department of Transport Driver and Vehicle Services (DVS) centre will once again offer extended Saturday hours for a limited period.
The centre will be open from 7:15 am to 2:15 pm for the next four Saturdays, from 25 January to 15 February.
The trading hours blitz offers a flexible option for customers aimed at reducing wait times, easing pressure on staff during weekdays, and providing greater convenience for the community.
Only driver and vehicle transactions will be available during these extended hours, with services such as NDIS, marine, dealer transactions, and Practical Driving Assessments (PDAs) unavailable.
The City West and Mirrabooka DVS centres will also be part of the extended hours.
The blitz is the third round of extended hours following the DoT’s short stints in June-July and September-October 2024.
The state government reported that a total of 9,484 customers were served at Cannington, City West, and Mirrabooka during the 2024 Saturday blitzes.
Minister Assisting the Transport David Michael said previous extended hours were well received and believes this time will be no different.
“The community has embraced the opportunity to attend a Driver and Vehicle Services centre on Saturdays, and I believe the next blitz from 25 January to 15 February will once again be well patronised,” he said.
“DoT is continuing to explore options to improve service delivery to the Western Australian community and I’d like to acknowledge DVS centre staff and customers for their hard work and patience during periods of high demand.”
