Many of the snakes were getting their slither on in the warmer weather, with ‘Brutus’ the olive python delighting guests.

The Armadale Reptile Centre has welcomed a record number of visitors through its doors for its 30th birthday celebrations.

Over 300 people stopped by to pat Albi the albino bobtail, have their faces painted, get their blue tongue impressions on after scoffing some royal blue fairy floss, or go on a scavenger hunt for the centre’s animals, with Mango the Macaw proving to be one of the more elusive finds.

Kristy Gaikhorst said the previous record for visitors was just over 180, so Saturday’s turnout was a monumental success.

“It’s been really great to see,” she said. “We’ve had a lot of fun.”
