Entries for the 2025 City of Gosnells Community Art Exhibition and Awards are now open.
Showcasing and celebrating the amazing work of talented artists from within Gosnells and beyond, the annual exhibition and awards have been a cornerstone within the local community for over 30 years.
With a wide range of art categories available, City of Gosnells Mayor Terresa Lynes is encouraging artists from all backgrounds to enter this year’s exhibition.
“Over the years, the awards have attracted an array of talent who have produced some incredible art, with a selection of pieces on display in the City’s Civic Centre and other facilities,” Mayor Lynes said.
“This event is a fantastic opportunity for the community to support amateur and professional artists and I look forward to seeing the pieces that come through this year.”
A $5,000 prize will be awarded to the winner of the Overall Acquisitive Award and $500 to the winners of 10 other award categories.
These categories include oil, acrylic, pastel, pencil, pen, and watercolour, photography and digital media, mixed media and 3D sculpture, Youth Award (12 to 17 years), The City in Focus Award, Local Artist, Aboriginal Artist, and People’s Choice.
Eve Wolfe claimed last year’s top award with a compelling portrait of her daughter, Forever 18, which captivated the judges.
All artworks will be judged by the City of Gosnells Public Art Committee, and many of the pieces on display will be available for purchase.
This year’s exhibition will be held from Saturday, May 17 to Sunday, May 25, at the Lyal Richardson Hall in The Agonis Building, located next to the Gosnells Library.
