Hill Street in Mt Nasura will be closed to traffic for five weeks from next Tuesday.
A diversion for local traffic on Hill Street will be in place for the full five weeks.
The planned Brookton Highway/ Hill Street intersection works will see the road widened and footpaths upgraded to enhance safety for road users and pedestrians.
The Brookton Highway will remain open during the construction, except when asphalting works are carried out.
Contractor Dowsing Group is yet to release the dates of the Brookton Highway closures, but said they will be carried out at night.
The upgrade is scheduled to be finished by April 1.
