Premier Roger Cook unveiled his new cabinet on Tuesday, naming three new ministers – Meredith Hammat, Jessica Stojkovski and Matthew Swinbourn.
Member for Armadale and former Minister for Education; Aboriginal Affairs; Citizenship and Multicultural Interests Tony Buti has been given a brand-new portfolio.
In line with recent speculation, Dr Buti has been named Attorney General for WA.
“I am deeply honoured to be named the state’s new Attorney General,” he said.
“I am committed to upholding justice, protecting the rights of all citizens, and ensuring our laws serve our communities.”
Dr Buti retains his portfolio for Multicultural Interests, and will also serve as Minister for Commerce and Tertiary and International Education.
