A hydraulic fluid spill shut down the westbound lane on Gilwell Avenue in Kelmscott this morning.
The spill happened just after 10am.
Police shut down the lane for two hours while firefighters and City of Armadale crews cleaned up the fluid using sand and absorption material.
It is unclear what vehicle spilt the fluid.
Motorists were being advised to use caution in the area.
