Kelmscott Senior High School is hosting its own locally written play and was inviting members of the public to witness its latest creation.
Stoneleigh is a locally written musical play set in a halfway house for homeless teenagers.
It examines the motivations behind the people in the position of helping youths, the conflicts that arise between workers that truly care for youths and those more concerned with themselves.
The play explores some of the problems youths of today contend with, including domestic violence and how to find a safe haven in times of need.
Though serious in nature, the play contains a lot of humour, upbeat songs and colour.
The script was written by Neil Pearce with music and additional lyrics by Joe Bonini.
Music was arranged by Julie Roberts.
Stoneleigh will be performed at the Kelmscott Senior High School Performing Arts Centre on July 28 and 29 at 7pm.
Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 concession and $5 for Kelmscott Senior High School students.
