Welcome back to the Den.

It was another home game on the weekend and our ladies played host to Quinns.

In what was a closely played game all day, Thornlie came out with a win 3.5 to Quinns 3.4. Unfortunately, Amelia Johnson suffered a serious ankle injury and will be out of action for several weeks, which is a shame as she has been playing very well this season kicking several goals for the team.

Better players in a team effort were Georgie Lathwell, who stopped several attacks with some timely marks. Jenna the tackling machine Cameron for obvious reasons, keep up the good work Jenna.

Kitt Catulpos was best player on the ground taking multiple bounces taking the ball out of defence and into attack, awesome game Kitt and well-done Ladies, well deserved.

Our colts had a bye so straight onto the ressies.

Luke Bradley goes for the big leap for Thornlie.

Reserves

The men hosted Carlisle and the boys were oh so close to their first win of the season going down by a solitary goal.

Another game that was close all day and was played on a lot of turnover footy.

At three quarter time Thornlie were down by three goals but came storming home kicking three goals but Carlisle kicked the one.

Keep going boys a win is not too far away. Better players in no particular order were Josh Cusworth, Aiden Adams and stalwart Nick Falcetta.

League

The league had a very impressive win against Carlisle scores being Thornlie 13.6 to Carlisle 3.6.

The boys are starting to play some very good football now and are starting to realise it doesn’t matter who is out as long as the players coming in listen and play their role.

A special mention to the three colts that came up with two of them making there League debut, Jacob Carter and Blake Fido well done, yes well done to you as well Eugene.

Better players were again in no order Cory Farrell, Cooper Smith, Bailey Smith, Mathew Robson and with an amazing eight goals Andrew Tomich.

It was a great day at the club.

Next week we have a bye, then we travel to Mossie park. Go the Lions.
