Gosnells residents and Perth’s Indonesian community are expected to come together for a special event, this weekend.

An ‘East Meets West’ free festival/food bazaar will be held in Beckenham’s Mills Park, from 11am to 3.30pm on Saturday, March 20.

The festival will include traditional live performances, workshops, arts and crafts, food stalls, door prizes, and a fashion show.

Event organiser Astit Olszowy said the event would celebrate all aspects of Indonesian culture and Australian culture.

“People from a variety of different cultures will be coming together for the event,” she said.

“Events like these are very important…they’re really good for our community.”

This weekend’s event is supported by a range of organisations including the City of Gosnells and the Indonesian Diaspora Network.
