Armadale actor Ron Arthurs has earned a coveted spot in the Global Finals of the renowned World Monologue Games – the largest acting competition in the world, which attracts participants from over 100 countries.

The Global Finals selection was carried out by an esteemed panel of industry experts, including prominent actors, casting directors and producers.

Ron was one of 92 chosen finalists who will compete across six categories in this year’s Global Finals.

“Hearing my name called as a finalist was an unforgettable moment. Now I get to perform alongside the best actors from around the entire world at the Globals with the hope of bringing home a Bronze, Silver or even Gold for Australia. I can’t wait,” Ron said.

“The piece I’ll be presenting is about a man whose life is slowly slipping away as his Alzheimer’s carries on its inevitable course.

“Competing at a global level is a dream come true and I can’t wait to showcase my work.”

Since its launch during the 2020 lockdowns, nearly 10,000 performers have registered for the Games.

Founder Pete Malicki expressed his excitement over the Games’ continued success: “What excites me most is seeing the incredible talent from every corner of the globe coming together for this event.”

The public can tune into the World Monologue Games Global Finals, which will be livestreamed on November 1, 2, 8, and 9.

Ron will perform in the Main Professional category on Saturday November 9.
