Police are investigating an armed robbery at an adult store just metres away from a press conference held by Opposition Leader Bill Shorten in Gosnells this morning.
An armed man entered adultshop.com on the corner of Main Street and Federation Parade store just before 10am, according to police.
They would not reveal what weapon was used.
The offender threatened an employee before leaving with a quantity of cash.
Police are still investigating and are yet to release a description of the offender.
The store is opposite Gosnells medical centre, where Mr Shorten was announcing legislation to protect Medicare from privatisation at the time of the robbery.
Those in the conference remained unaware of the drama unfolding nearby.
It comes less than a week after Mr Shorten was forced to cancel an afternoon of campaigning after a driver who was attempting to overtake his motorcade became involved in a head-on collision in New South Wales.
