The City of Armadale will once again hold one of Perth’s most thought provoking exhibitions for emerging high school artists in the outside the frame art awards.
The awards were open to students in years 11 and 12 throughout the Perth metropolitan region.
Armadale mayor Henry Zelones said the unique exhibition would showcase an array of creative expressions from Perth’s up and coming young artists.
“The city is committed to enhancing the cultural vitality of our community by providing opportunities for young artists to exhibit their works in Armadale,” he said.
“We want to provide professional development opportunities for young people and foster their artistic talents through events such as outside the frame.
“We encourage everyone to come along and view the works of these incredibly talented young people and continue to support their achievements.”
The awards were open to six categories including painting, drawing, prints, sculpture, textiles and digital media or photography.
Entrants would be in the running to win prizes across each category, a local artist award, an award for overall excellence and a $1000 cash prize for the school with the best collective works.
The exhibition would be open from August 15 to 23, 11am to 4pm daily at the Armadale district hall, corner of Jull Street and Church Avenue, Armadale.
