A mural featuring a stylised red-tail black cockatoo sitting on a gum tree branch has refreshed the side of a building in Byford, which had previously been called an eyesore.
The new building on the corner of South Western Highway and Beenyup Road has recently received a fresh coat of paint by West Australian artist Melski McVee.
Shire of Serpentine Jarrahdale President Michelle Rich said the artwork reflected Byford’s local identity and connection with the environment.
“We hope the community embraces this artwork and are confident that it will improve the amenity of the Byford town centre,” she said.
