Maddington Little Athletics Club athletes won many medals and personal bests at the State Winter Road Walking Championships on August 19 at Perry Lakes Reserve.

Trent D’Alessio won a silver medal in the under 14 boys, 2000-metre race. Sierra Thompson competed in the winter series in the under 13 girls age group.

Katica Borsic competed in the under 14 girls, 2000-metre race and won the silver medal.

Kade Constantine walked in the 2000-metre, under 14 boy’s race, winning bronze.

Tory D’Alessio competed in both the under 12 girls, 2000-metre and the under 14 girls, 3000-metre race, she won gold in both.

Able Thompson competed in the under 10 boys, 1500 -metre race and achieved 5th place with a great race time.

Willow Wheeler competed in the under 10 girls, 1500-metre race and won the gold medal.

Jesstine Morales competed in the under 15 boys, 2000-metre race and won the gold medal.

Daria Kurmaev competed in the under 11 girls, 1500-metre race, she only just missed out on a medal with 4th place.
Maddington Little Athletics has been part of the community for more than 50 years.

Coach Joe D’Agnone has been coaching at the club for more than 30 years and is renowned for producing champion athletes.

During this past year Maddington’s athletes have gone on to win not only State medals but also National and International medals.

Maddington Little Athletics Club will start their pre-season training on September 19 at Harmony Fields Maddngton.
