Araluen botanic park in Roleystone will play host to the inaugural West Australian avocado festival on November 28 and 29.
Punters will be able to stroll through stalls selling all things avocado ranging from beauty products, ciders beer and cocktails as well as a range of fresh delicious foods.
There will be expert information, advice, cooking demonstrations and avocado trees will be up for sale.
Araluen botanic park foundation general manager Grant Nixon said the festival was all about the good flavour and rich texture of the avocado.
“The fruit is prized for its high nutrient value, is loaded with heart healthy monounsaturated fatty acids and is added to all sorts of dishes from cupcakes to guacamole because of its versatility and great taste,” he said.
“We see this festival becoming as successful as Araluen’s Fremantle chilli festival.”
The festival will run from 10am to 5pm each day.
