The Willetton Blues Integrated Football team have been crowned premiers of the Perth Football League Integrated Competition for 2024 after a thrilling 23-point win against the Coolbinia Falcons last Saturday.

The match began with a strong performance from the Blues, who took control early, leading 29-0 at halftime.

Despite the challenging wet conditions, the Falcons fought back fiercely in the second half, holding the Blues scoreless in the final quarter.

However, the valiant effort to close the gap wasn’t enough with Coolbinia’s comeback falling short of overcoming the early deficit, as Willetton secured the flag with a final score of 6.7 (43) to 3.2 (20).

Head Coach Kevin Phillips said he is overjoyed with the team’s commitment and performance.

“The flag has come home to where it belongs and that all the boys gave 110 per cent effort in very wet and wild conditions,” Phillips said.

“Willetton Football Club is incredibly proud to have such a determined and talented team. Well done to all the boys; see you all next season.”
