The soulful sounds of the blues will again ring throughout the Araluen Botanic Park’s amphitheatre with the return of the Blues in the Hills concert on February 20.

WA musicians Bret Mosley, Matty T Wall and the Lez Karski Trio will take to the stage for the ultimate blues night out.

Araluen Botanic Park Foundation general manager Grant Nixon said after a few years of hiatus they decided it was time to bring back the popular event.

“We used to hold a blues festival and it was quite popular, we were getting up to about 800 to 1000 people,” he said.

“For a variety of reasons we stopped it, one of those being the blues and roots festival being extra busy down in Freo.

“In 2014 at our carols by torchlight we were sitting there and it was an absolutely stunning night we thought we really should utilise the park more for these evening events.

“We decided then and there we would have another little blues concert there which we had last year.

“It was a fantastic night so we decided we’d get a bit more involved in it this year and a bit more organised and we’ve pushed it harder this year.”

Mr Nixon said it would be a casual night perfect for both the blues aficionado and amateur.

“It’s a casual night in the park, picnics, glass of wine, great music, sitting with someone you like to sit with, it’s good,” he said.

Gates will open at 6pm and tickets are $20 for adults, $60 for a family pass and kids under five are free.
