Well-known hits including Too Many Times and Live It Up blasted from the speakers at the Byford Districts and Country Club last weekend as Mental As Anything performed in front of hundreds of keen punters.
The Australian rock legends, who flew in from Sydney, performed in front of more than 600 members on Saturday as part of its 60-year celebrations as an incorporated club.
Byford Districts and Country Club chief executive Mark O’Neill said the monumental celebration went off without a hitch and the club had since been inundated with comments on social media about how much guests enjoyed the evening.
“Our alfresco area made for the perfect area to erect an outdoor stage with a light show reflected off the bowling green fence, which made it a spectacle for the eyes and ears,” he said.
The celebrations started from 5pm with guests bopping along to tunes from resident DJ Matty J and support act Hi NRG, before hundreds of members flooded in to see the major act of the night.
“Mental As Anything played a phenomenal gig which had the crowd on their feet throughout the 75-minute set,” he said.
“The evening was a tremendous success from start to finish.”
The celebrations continued last night with an invite-only black tie event for long-term members, funding partners and key contributors.
