The Rostrata Football Club will be debuting a seniors team next year and are recruiting anyone who is simply willing to have a go or has aspirations of playing professionally.

The club has only a few junior teams in years five, six and eight as well as a large number of pre-primary to year two’s in the Auskick group.

Amateurs representative Kyle Sanders said bringing in a seniors team will bring the Willetton community together and connect over one common interest.

“It will also allow the juniors to continue playing football at the same club with the same group of people that they’ve grown up with, and it makes moving into senior football a lot easier without having chase up other clubs to find a home,” he said.

“The Rhinos are very supportive of everyone at the club, no matter if you’re there just to try or if you aspire to play professionally we try to get players and families to achieve what they want to achieve and have a bit of fun along the way.”

The team will consist of 18 to 25 players however Mr Sanders said more members are also welcome to join.

“Our main goal next year is to be competitive by the second half of the season and maybe see us take a few wins will set a good benchmark for following seasons,” he said.

The club is also searching for a coach to get the seniors team kicking next season.

Anyone interested in joining or wanting to coach is asked to visit the club’s website at rostratarhinos.org.au or the Rostrata Rhinos Facebook page.
