The Canning Cougars

Last week Saturday, Canning Cougars Tee-Ball Club wrapped up another successful season at Centenary Park. With trophies in hand and plenty of fun on offer, families came together to celebrate the club’s end-of-season Trophy Day, a much-loved tradition filled with games, water play, and good food.

With the temperature pushing 40 degrees, the Cougars turned up the heat with a festival-style morning that had something for everyone. The event featured free food, ice creams, inflatable obstacle courses, and even a water dunking machine that kept the kids cool and the crowd laughing.

Mayor Patrick Hall, who attended with his family at the invitation of Club President Steve Klomp, called it a “fabulous morning surrounded by our local community.” The Cougars Trophy Day was filled with dedicated volunteers, enthusiastic parents, and the unstoppable energy of kids aged 5 to 12, all united by the club’s core values.

After speeches and trophy presentations, the real fun began. Kids bounced, slid, splashed, and cheered as the Cougars celebrated not just wins on the diamond, but the spirit that defines the club.

With over 75 per cent of players clocking 16 games or more this season, the event was an opportunity for everyone to share hugs and goodwill after another successful year.

Canning Cougars is a Tee-Ball Club for kids between 5 and 12, with all club games held at their home grounds at Centenary Park, Centenary Avenue, Wilson.
