A masquerade by candlelight on August 7 will launch the 120th anniversary of the Canning show, which will be held on November 6 and 7.
Canning agricultural, horticultural and recreational society executive Dianne Begg said community participation helped the show be so successful all these years and this year was no different.
“As in 1894, the show’s success today relies on its business and commercial supporters in the community,” he said.
“We try and produce the Canning show within the community for the community.
“It’s about doing our event with as much pride in our community as those people had 120 years ago.”
Ms Begg said this year there would be a focus on quality entertainment such as light and laser shows as well as performances from local acts. Performances from a Beatles tribute band and a Kylie Minogue tribute band would also be features of the show.
Tickets are $25.
