Thousands of people flocked to a Byford park last weekend to celebrate the various cultures that make up the wider community.

Byford Multicultural Club hosted its annual festival on Saturday, which saw close to 4000 people join in the fun at Kalimna Oval.

Club president Sunny Singh said festivalgoers seemed to love what was on offer with some saying the group had raised the standard of events in Byford.

“These events are important for people to understand the various cultures and to unite our society,” he said.

There was plenty of entertainment on offer including cultural displays and performances, a variety of cuisines and a special fundraiser to help those affected by the fires interstate.

The group hope to bring an even bigger and better festival back to Byford next year. For more information about the group email info@byfordmc.org.au.
