Local Tae Kwon Do champion Katie Russell has mastered her black bat.

On September 10, in front of a gathering of family, friends, and fellow students, local woman Katie Russell demonstrated her mastery of taekwondo during her Black Belt examination.

With poise, precision, and unwavering focus, she executed a flawless series of moves that were powerful and slick, showcasing the culmination of years of hard work and dedication.

Katie, took her first steps into the world of taekwondo at the age of nine, guided by her passion and the unwavering support of her family, and the instructors.

First Tae Kwon Do’s philosophy of discipline and self-improvement immediately resonated with her, laying the foundation for a remarkable journey ahead.

Her pursuit of her Black Belt began in earnest in 2019.

The path to becoming a Black Belt is a demanding one, involving rigorous physical training, mental fortitude, and an unshakable commitment to self-improvement.

Katie displayed these qualities in abundance throughout her journey.

Her training regimen was intense with challenges along the way. However, what sets Katie apart is her unwavering determination.
