It was a case of crazy hair and socks everywhere when Fat Cat made a surprise visit to Beenyup Primary School last week all for a great cause.

Beenyup Primary School officer Melissa Lipple said she was proud of the students who had raised money for other children in need.

“The students and staff were so excited to meet Fat Cat and get some photos with him,” Ms Lipple said.

“The funds raised on Crazy Hair and Sock Day make the school’s total raised for Telethon in 2024 a whopping $875, which has been met with events throughout the year including Pyjama Day, Easter Hat Parade and they have Loud Shirt Day coming up in Term 4 where they are hoping to reach their 2024 goal of raising $1000 for Telethon.”

Member for Darling Range, Mr Hugh Jones MLA heard Fat Cat was visiting Beenyup Primary and joined in on the action for Crazy Hair and Sock Day.

“It is important that schools support initiatives and charities such as Telethon to help students become aware of circumstances in life that impact other families such as childhood illness.”

“Fat Cat is a cat of few words, but he was no doubt impressed by a fantastic day of fundraising by Beenyup Primary School,” he said.
