The Gosnells Hawks league team recorded a hard fought victory over Canning Vale last Saturday.

The game played in heavy ground conditions was even until Gosnells scored five unanswered goals late in the third quarter to open up a winning margin with the final scores reading Gosnells 17.13 (125) Canning Vale 8.10 (58).

The best for the Hawks were Jayden Woods, Josh Hall, Mal Yarran and Eathan Strahan.

The reserve team continues to show improvement and advanced to third spot on the premiership ladder but will need to defeat second place Warnbro this week to consolidate its position and earn a place in the qualifying final.

The final scores were Gosnells 16.13 (109) Canning Vale 7.4 (46) and the best players for the Hawks were Daniel Hendrix, Bryan Ainsworth (9 goals), Wade Goodhew and Brett Endersby.

The colts team fought hard but went down by 14 points to Bassendean and the final scores were Bassendean 11.5 (71) Gosnells 8.9 (57) and the best for the Hawks were Eric Mitchell, Kyle Warner, Tim Hale and Kyle Dougan.

The thirds continue to struggle in E2 Division but coach Stuart Bates is confident his team will finish off the season in a positive fashion.

The final scores were West Coast 19.18 Gosnells 1.3 (9) and the best players were Dennis Luffman, Russell Fuller, Sam Carlino and Jonathon Kingdon.

This week the league, reserves and colts play Warnbro at Gosnells Oval and the thirds travel to Fawell Park to play Swan Athletic at 3.15 pm.
